Step-by-Step Instructions for Deep Fried Marshmallows
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1 cup of milk, 1 beaten egg, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of baking powder until you achieve a smooth, thick batter resembling pancake consistency. Set it aside to rest for about 5 minutes.
- In a deep fryer or large pot, heat about 2–3 inches of neutral frying oil to a temperature of 350°F (175°C). Test the oil's readiness by dropping a small spoonful of batter into the oil—it should sizzle immediately.
- Skewer each marshmallow and fully coat them in the batter. For an extra crispy layer, consider double-dipping each marshmallow back into the batter.
- Carefully lower the coated marshmallows into the hot oil in small batches. Fry them for about 1–2 minutes, gently turning them until they puff up and turn golden brown.
- Once golden brown, use a slotted spoon to remove the deep fried marshmallows from the oil. Drain them on paper towels to soak up excess oil and dust them with powdered sugar.

Notes
Serve warm alongside chocolate sauce or caramel for dipping. These treats are best enjoyed fresh, but they can be stored at room temperature for a short time.
