Preparation Steps
- In a small saucepan, combine the unsalted butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. Heat over low heat, stirring continuously for about 3–5 minutes until the butter is melted and smooth.
- Preheat your mug by filling it with hot water. Discard the hot water after a few minutes.
- Pour 2-3 ounces of hot water into the preheated mug. Add the melted butter mixture and stir continuously for about 30 seconds.
- Pour in the dark rum and gently stir for about 15 seconds to combine the flavors.
- Garnish with a sprinkle of fresh nutmeg or a cinnamon stick and serve immediately.
