Preparation Steps
  1. Thinly slice the English cucumbers and sweet onions. Sprinkle cucumbers with salt and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Rinse the cucumbers under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, heat whipped cream cheese for about 15 seconds until softened. Then whisk with mayonnaise, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil until smooth.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained cucumbers and sliced onions. Drizzle half of the dressing over and toss gently.
  5. Let the salad rest for 5 minutes.
  6. Stir in any optional mix-ins you desire and pour in the remaining dressing, tossing until well combined.
  7. Transfer to a serving bowl, garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, and serve immediately.
