For the Egg Wash
  • 1 each egg
  • 1 tbsp water

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Thaw the puff pastry at room temperature, about 30-60 minutes or overnight in the fridge.
  2. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. Beat cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth; add food coloring and fold in half of the strawberries.
  4. Roll out puff pastry to 1/8 inch thick and cut heart shapes with a cookie cutter.
  5. Fill each heart with 1-2 tablespoons of cream cheese mixture and top with remaining strawberries.
  6. Whisk egg and water for egg wash; brush edges of pastry.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden-brown, rotating halfway through.
  8. Cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
