Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven or air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Spread the frozen French fries in a single layer on a baking tray or air fryer basket. Bake for 20 minutes.
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat for 1-2 minutes, then whisk in 2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour. Cook for 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually pour in 1 cup of milk while whisking to prevent lumps. Cook for about 5 minutes until thickened.
