  • 1 cup Whole Milk Warm, can substitute with almond or oat milk
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar Honey can be used as a substitute
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons Active Dry Yeast Ensure it is fresh and bubbly
  • 4 cups Bread Flour All-purpose flour can be used, but will be softer
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Fine Sea Salt
  • 2 large Eggs Use room temperature for best results
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted Butter Cold, cubed for a tender crumb
For the Egg Wash
  • 1 large Egg White
  • 1 tablespoon Water

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm whole milk, granulated sugar, and active dry yeast. Let sit until frothy.
  2. Mix bread flour and fine sea salt in a stand mixer. Combine on low speed.
  3. Slowly pour in the bloomed yeast mixture and beaten eggs. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Add cold, cubed butter and knead the dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Grease a bowl, transfer the dough, cover, and let rise in a warm area for 1 hour or until doubled.
  6. Punch down the dough, divide into 6 pieces, and shape them into rectangles and then loaves.
  7. Place on a baking sheet, cover, and let proof for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and prepare egg wash. Brush it onto the rolls before baking.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature is 195-200°F.
  10. Cool on a wire rack completely before slicing.
