Step-by-Step Instructions for Teriyaki Spam Musubi
- Begin by rinsing 2 cups of sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then cook the rice according to package instructions, about 20 minutes. Mix in rice vinegar once cooked.
- Slice the can of Spam into ½-inch rectangles. Heat a skillet over medium heat and sauté the Spam slices until they turn golden brown, approximately 5 minutes.
- Pour in teriyaki sauce and coat each slice of Spam. Simmer for about 2 minutes, flipping to ensure each side is glazed.
- Lay a sheet of nori shiny-side down. Place a portion of sushi rice in the center, press down firmly, add a slice of glazed Spam, then wrap the nori around the rice and Spam.
- Using a wet knife, slice the assembled Teriyaki Spam Musubi into bite-sized pieces and serve warm or at room temperature.
