Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, light brown sugar, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Simmer over medium heat for about 10 minutes.
  3. Blend brown sugar, soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, Asian pear, yellow onion, garlic, and ginger until smooth to make the marinade.
  4. Add ground beef to a bowl, pour the marinade over it, and season with salt and pepper. Mix gently until combined.
  5. Form the beef mixture into approximately 24 meatballs, about 1-inch in size, and place on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake the meatballs for 12 to 15 minutes until browned and cooked through, reaching 160°F (71°C).
  7. Brush the baked meatballs with the cooled glaze and broil for 30 seconds to 1 minute until caramelized.
  8. Serve over rice and garnish with toasted sesame seeds and green onions.
