Step-by-Step Instructions for Easy Bourbon Chicken
- Toss the chopped chicken breasts in a mixing bowl with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until fully coated. Set aside for 10 minutes.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add vegetable oil, and brown the chicken for about 3 minutes on each side. Remove from skillet.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium, add minced garlic, and sauté for 30 seconds. Then, add chicken broth, soy sauce, apple juice, ketchup, bourbon, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, ground ginger, onion powder, and spices. Bring to a boil.
- Return the browned chicken to the skillet. Lower heat to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes until sauce thickens and reduces by half.
- For a thicker sauce, mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water and add to the skillet. Simmer for an additional 2 minutes.

Notes
Ensure oil is hot for crispy coating and avoid overcrowding the skillet for even cooking.
