  • 1 pound flank steak or sirloin or ribeye
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce use tamari for gluten-free
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
For the Vegetables
  • 1 onion yellow or red
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 inch ginger fresh, minced
  • 2 stalks green onions chopped
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup beef broth or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil for drizzling
Seasoning
  • to taste salt
  • to taste pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil for stir-frying

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain. Combine beef slices with soy sauce and cornstarch in a bowl and marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated beef and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of vegetable oil. Toss in sliced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Stir constantly for 3-5 minutes until tender yet crisp.
  4. Add minced ginger and sauté for 1 minute.
  5. Return cooked beef to the skillet, pour in beef broth and oyster sauce and stir well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through and sauce thickens slightly.
  6. Drizzle with sesame oil, season with salt and pepper, and mix in chopped green onions. Serve immediately.
