For the Grape Leaves
  • Grape Leaves Jarred varieties preferred.
For Cooking
  • 2 cups Chicken Broth Infuses flavor during baking.
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter Melted for richness.
  • 2 tbsp Canola Oil For sautéing onions and garlic.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Sauté the onion in canola oil until translucent, then add garlic and cook until fragrant.
  2. In a large bowl, mix sautéed onion and garlic with beef, rice, salt, pepper, water, lemon juice, and herbs.
  3. Rinse grape leaves, place filling near stem end, fold sides, and roll tightly.
  4. Arrange dolmades in a pot seam-side down, pour broth over, and drizzle melted butter and lemon juice.
  5. Cover and simmer for 1 to 1.5 hours until rice is tender and leaves are soft.
  6. Let dolmades cool for 10 minutes, then serve with lemon wedges and tzatziki.
