- In a large skillet, add a couple of tablespoons of neutral oil and heat it over medium-high heat for about 2 minutes.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel and season generously with kosher salt on both sides.
- Carefully place the salmon fillets in the hot skillet, skin-side down, and cook for 3-4 minutes without moving them.
- Using a fish spatula, gently flip the salmon fillets over and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Add cubed unsalted butter, minced garlic, and juice from half a lemon.
- Continue cooking until the salmon is opaque throughout and flakes easily with a fork, about 3-4 more minutes after adding the butter.
- Once done, remove from heat and transfer to a serving plate. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley or dill.
