Cooking Steps
- In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat until shimmering. Add 1 pound of ground beef, cooking and stirring to break it into small pieces. Cook for 6-8 minutes until browned.
- Push the ground beef to one side of the skillet. Add 1 diced onion and 3 minced garlic cloves. Sauté uncovered for about 3 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Stir in 4 cups of fresh broccoli florets, sautéing with the beef mixture for a minute.
- Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of salt, ½ teaspoon of black pepper, and optional seasonings. Mix thoroughly.
- Cover the skillet and let cook for 5-7 minutes over low heat until the broccoli is tender yet still crisp.
- Lower the heat and pour in ½ cup of heavy cream, stirring to combine.
- Sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese over the mixture and cover for 2-3 minutes to melt.
- If desired, stir in 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce and add red pepper flakes.
- Serve hot, spooning into bowls.
