- In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of fresh, filtered water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat.
- Once the water is boiling, add in 2 tablespoons of Kashmiri green tea leaves and boil for 5 minutes.
- Stir in 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda and continue boiling for an additional 2 minutes.
- Add a star anise, 4 crushed cardamom pods, and a cinnamon stick to the boiling mixture; infuse for about 1 minute.
- Reduce heat to low and let the tea simmer gently for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Once simmering is complete, stir in a pinch of salt and pour in 2 cups of whole milk.
- Strain the tea into cups using a fine mesh strainer and add sugar or honey to taste.
- Optional: Sprinkle crushed nuts on top and serve hot.
