Step-by-Step Instructions for Dubai Chocolate Cake
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch baking pan. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add the egg, vanilla, milk, oil, and coffee. Mix until smooth, pour into the pan, and bake for 25 minutes.
  2. While the cake bakes, melt the butter in a skillet over medium heat, add the shredded phyllo, and toast until golden brown and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes. Mix in the pistachio cream until combined.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate with heavy cream, microwave for 45 seconds, let it rest for 3-5 minutes, then whisk until smooth.
  4. After the cake has cooled for 10-15 minutes, invert onto a plate, spread the pistachio filling over the top, and pour the chocolate sauce generously over it.
  5. Serve immediately or chill to set the chocolate sauce. Garnish with chopped pistachios before serving.

Using hot coffee enhances the chocolate flavor. Bake the cake a day in advance for convenience. Allow cooling for 10-15 minutes to prevent crumbling.
