Step-by-Step Instructions
- Start by cutting the brioche or challah bread into 1-inch thick slices. Arrange the bread slices snugly in a greased baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until smooth.
- Pour the custard mixture evenly over the arranged bread slices, gently pressing down to ensure each piece is well-soaked. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, preferably overnight.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove the dish from the refrigerator and uncover it. Place it in the preheated oven and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
- Sprinkle a thin layer of granulated sugar evenly over the surface of the French toast. Using a kitchen torch, caramelize the sugar until golden and bubbly.
- Allow your Crème Brûlée French Toast to cool slightly before serving. Serve it warm topped with fresh berries and maple syrup.

Notes
Allowing the bread to soak long enough, preferably overnight, enhances flavor melding, so try not to skip this step.
