Ingredients

For the Filling
  • 1 cup Cooked Crab Meat Sweet lump crab gives the best flavor.
  • 1 cup Cooked Shrimp Fresh or frozen adds a tender texture.
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese Try a vegan alternative for dairy-free.
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese Substitute with Monterey Jack if desired.
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Green Onions Swap with chives for a gentler taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh garlic works too—just adjust to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning Substitute with Cajun seasoning if preferred.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
For the Tortillas
  • 6 pieces Flour Tortillas Opt for corn tortillas for gluten-free.
For Frying
  • 1 cup Oil for Frying Use vegetable, canola, or olive oil.

Equipment

  • Deep skillet or frying pan

Method

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked crab meat, shrimp, cream cheese, and shredded cheddar cheese. Add the chopped green onions, garlic powder, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together until well incorporated.
  2. Lay out your flour tortillas on a clean surface. Place 2-3 tablespoons of the seafood filling in the center of each tortilla. Fold the sides over and roll it up tightly.
  3. In a deep skillet, heat oil to about 350°F (175°C). Insert a small piece of tortilla to check if it sizzles.
  4. Carefully place the assembled tortilla bombs into the hot oil, frying for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried bombs from the oil and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  6. Serve immediately while warm, pairing with salsa or avocado dip.
