Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, combine warm milk with active dry yeast. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, and salt. Create a well in the center.
  3. Pour activated yeast mixture into the well. Add beaten eggs and melted butter, mixing until a sticky dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for approximately 1 hour.
  6. Punch down the dough gently, roll it out to about 1/2-inch thick, and cut out circles.
  7. Place cut donuts on a baking sheet, cover, and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Heat oil to 350°F. Fry 2-3 donuts for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  9. Allow donuts to cool slightly, then fill with pastry cream using a piping bag. Dust with powdered sugar.
