  • 1 lb Ground Pork Can substitute with chicken or tofu.
  • 2 stalks Green Onions Chives can work in a pinch.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Or use garlic powder.
  • 1 inch Ginger Grated, or use ground ginger.
For the Broth
  • 4 cups Chicken Broth Use vegetable broth for vegetarian option.
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce Low-sodium is a healthier choice.
  • 1 tsp Sesame Oil Optional but enhances flavor.
For Garnishing
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Cilantro or Parsley Basil is a lovely alternative.

Method
 

Prepare Filling
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork with minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green onions. Add soy sauce and mix thoroughly. Set aside.
Assemble Dumplings
  1. Take a gyoza wrapper, place a teaspoon of filling in the center. Moisten edges with water, fold and pinch the edges to seal.
Make Broth
  1. In a large pot, bring chicken broth to a gentle simmer, stir in soy sauce if needed, and warmth for about 5 minutes.
Cook Dumplings
  1. Drop the assembled dumplings into the pot. Cook for approx. 5 minutes until they float to the top.
Finish Soup
  1. Drizzle sesame oil into the pot, stir gently, taste, and adjust seasoning. Warm for another minute.
Serve Hot
  1. Ladle soup into bowls, garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley, and serve immediately.
