  • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes optional
  • 1 tablespoon Arrowroot Powder or Cornstarch
For the Filling
  • 1 pound Ground Beef or other proteins like ground pork
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger grated
  • 1 cup Red Bell Pepper diced
  • 1 cup Shredded Carrots any type of shredded veggies can work
  • 2 stalks Green Onions sliced
  • to taste teaspoon Kosher Salt
  • to taste teaspoon Ground Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds for garnish
For the Wraps
  • 1 head Boston Bibb Lettuce or Butter Lettuce or Romaine
  • optional Steamed White Rice or Cauliflower Rice for low-carb

Method
 

Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. In a measuring cup, whisk together the maple syrup, coconut aminos, rice vinegar, toasted sesame oil, and optional red pepper flakes until completely blended. Incorporate the arrowroot powder and mix until smooth.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add the ground beef, breaking it apart. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add diced red bell pepper and shredded carrots to the skillet and cook for about 3-4 minutes.
  5. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and vegetable mixture, stirring well. Simmer for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in sliced green onions.
  7. Spoon generous amounts of the beef filling into lettuce leaves and sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.
