Prepare Dough
- In a large mixing bowl, combine warm water with instant yeast. Allow it to foam for about 5 minutes.
- Mix in egg, egg yolk, melted unsalted butter, and whole milk. Gradually add flour, granulated sugar, and salt until a soft dough forms.
Knead & Rise
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes. Place it in a greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for at least 8 hours.
Prepare Filling
- Mix together melted butter, zest of fresh oranges, and sugar. Stir in fresh orange juice until combined.
Roll & Cut
- Roll chilled dough into a rectangle about 1/4-inch thick. Spread orange filling evenly and cut into strips.
- Roll each strip to form rolls.
Final Rise
- Place rolls in a buttered muffin pan, cover with a towel, and let rise for 30-45 minutes. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake
- Bake rolls for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and puffy.
Glaze
- Whisk powdered sugar with orange juice until pourable. Drizzle over warm rolls.
