Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, and lemon zest.
  3. Create a well in the dry mixture and crack the egg into it. Pour in the cooled melted butter and milk, and mix until a shaggy dough forms.
  4. Transfer the shaggy dough to a lightly floured surface and knead gently for about 1-2 minutes until smooth.
  5. Divide the dough and roll into thin ropes, tying them into knots or forming circles.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes until lightly golden.
  7. Allow cookies to cool on the pan for a few minutes, then prepare the lemon glaze and drizzle it over the cooled cookies.
