Ingredients

For the Syrup
  • 2 cups Fresh Blackberries Substitute with raspberries or blueberries for a delightful twist.
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Mint Leaves Can also be used for garnishing.
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar Adjust to taste; use honey for a natural alternative.
  • 1 cup Water Essential for creating the syrup.
For the Drink
  • 1 bottle Prosecco For non-alcoholic option, swap with sparkling water or lemon-lime soda.
  • 1 cup Ice Cubes Vital for chilling the drink.

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • fine-mesh sieve
  • Measuring Cup
  • glass

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a saucepan, combine fresh blackberries, mint leaves, granulated sugar, and water. Stir well and place it over medium heat. Bring to a gentle boil and cook for about 5 minutes, until the blackberries soften and juices are released.
  2. Once simmered, remove from heat and allow to cool for about 15 minutes. Strain the mixture into a bowl using a fine-mesh sieve, gently pressing the solids to extract maximum syrup.
  3. Fill each glass with ice cubes. Pour 2 ounces of the blackberry-mint syrup into each glass over the ice.
  4. Slowly pour chilled Prosecco into each glass, filling it to the brim. Stir gently to combine syrup and Prosecco.
  5. Garnish each glass with additional mint leaves and whole blackberries before serving.
