Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. Soak the golden raisins in Jack Daniel's Whiskey for 1-2 days in the refrigerator.
  2. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  3. Cream together unsalted butter and dark brown sugar for about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, spices, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing gently until just combined.
  7. Toss candied fruit and chopped pecans in reserved flour and fold into the dough.
  8. Using a tablespoon, drop rounded portions of dough onto baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart.
  9. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown around the edges.
  10. Let the cookies rest for 5 minutes on baking sheets before transferring to wire racks to cool.
