  • 10 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons Harissa Paste adjust for heat preference
  • 1/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • 1 tablespoon Balsamic Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Cumin
  • 1 tablespoon Ground Coriander
  • 2 teaspoons Smoked Paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Ground Cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Freshly Ground Pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Cinnamon
For the Sauce (Optional)
  • 1 cup Greek Yogurt
  • 1/3 cup Fresh Cilantro packed
  • 1/3 cup Fresh Parsley packed
  • 2 cloves Additional Garlic for Sauce peeled
  • 2 tablespoons Lemon Juice for Sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Pepper

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions for Harissa Chicken
  1. Marinate the Chicken by whisking together harissa paste, olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice, and all spices. Add chicken and refrigerate for 4-24 hours.
  2. Prepare the Yogurt Sauce by blending yogurt, cilantro, parsley, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and pepper until smooth; refrigerate.
  3. Cook the Chicken on the Grill at medium heat for 5-7 minutes per side until internal temperature reaches 170°F.
  4. For Stovetop, heat a skillet, add oil, and cook chicken for 4-5 minutes each side until internal temperature reaches 170°F.
  5. For Oven method, preheat to 425°F and bake chicken for 20-25 minutes until internal temperature hits 175°F.
  6. Rest the chicken for 5 minutes before serving with yogurt sauce and fresh herbs.

Notes
