Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and ½ cup of butter over medium heat until boiling. Quickly add 1 cup of flour and stir until a thick dough forms.
  3. Remove from heat and cool for about 5 minutes. Add 4 eggs one at a time, mixing until smooth and glossy.
  4. Transfer the dough to a piping bag. Pipe 2-inch rounds onto the baking sheet, spaced 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden. Do not open the oven during baking.
  6. Make the filling by whisking together 1 cup of heavy cream, 1 cup of powdered sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  7. Once cooled, slice each puff in half and fill with the vanilla cream mixture.
  8. Dust with additional powdered sugar and serve with berries or chocolate sauce.
