Step-by-Step Instructions for Chicken Parmesan Casserole
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking dish with a light coating of olive oil.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked chicken, marinara sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and cooked penne pasta. Stir well.
  3. Layer half of the chicken and pasta mixture in the greased baking dish. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses on top.
  4. Repeat the layering process with the remaining chicken and pasta mixture, followed by the rest of the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses.
  5. In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with olive oil and sprinkle generously over the top layer of cheese.
  6. Bake the casserole for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  7. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil.
