Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the patties by shaping the ground chuck into 1-inch thick patties, season with salt and pepper, then refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  2. Cook chopped thick-cut bacon in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until crispy, then set aside. Sauté diced white onion for 3-4 minutes, add minced garlic, and cook for 1 more minute.
  3. Combine cooked bacon with onions and garlic in the skillet, stir in brown sugar, bourbon, apple cider vinegar, and maple syrup, and simmer for 10-15 minutes until thickened.
