Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Warm 1 cup of milk to about 110°F and combine with 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast. Let sit for 10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together 4 cups of flour, 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, ½ cup of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Cut in ½ cup of butter.
  3. Add the yeast mixture, 2 eggs, and 1 tablespoon of food dye to the flour mixture. Mix until smooth.
  4. Preheat oven to 200°F, turn it off, and let the dough rise in a greased bowl for 1 hour.
  5. Mix ½ cup of softened butter, 1 cup of brown sugar, and 2 tablespoons of cinnamon for the filling.
  6. Roll the risen dough into a rectangle, spread filling, roll tightly, and slice into 12 rolls.
  7. Place rolls in a greased pan and let rise for 20 minutes, pouring ½ cup of cream around them.
  8. Preheat oven to 375°F and bake for 25-27 minutes.
  9. Prepare icing by mixing cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth.
  10. Spread icing over warm rolls after baking.
