- In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 packet of instant dry yeast, and 1.5 teaspoons of sea salt. Mix well and gradually pour in 1.5 cups of warm water, stirring until a wet, shaggy dough forms.
- Cover the bowl loosely and allow the dough to rest at room temperature for 2 to 3 hours, or overnight.
- Gently turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a round loaf.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F and place a pizza stone or cast iron dutch oven inside to heat up. Place a baking dish with water on the bottom rack.
- Place the shaped loaf on a floured pizza peel, cover, and let it rest for about 45 minutes. Score the top before baking.
- Carefully slide the dough onto the pizza stone or into the dutch oven and bake for about 30 minutes until golden brown.
- Transfer the loaf to a cooling rack and cool completely before slicing.
