  • 4 tablespoons Butter For frying.
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese Softened for smooth filling.
  • 1/4 cup Powdered Sugar For sweetness in filling.
  • 1 cup Fresh Strawberries Cut just before use.
  • 1/4 cup Strawberry Preserves
  • 2 large Eggs Best if straight from the fridge.
  • 1/2 cup Whole Milk For custard mixture.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a medium bowl, blend softened cream cheese and powdered sugar using an electric mixer until smooth, about 2 minutes.
  2. Spread cream cheese mixture on half the bread slices, top with strawberries and strawberry preserves, then cover with remaining bread.
  3. Whisk together eggs and whole milk in a shallow dish, then dip each sandwich into this mixture.
  4. Preheat the skillet over medium heat, add butter to melt.
  5. Fry two sandwiches until golden brown on each side, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  6. Remove from skillet, drain on paper towels, and dust with powdered sugar.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with maple syrup and fresh fruit salad.
