  1. Begin by pressing the firm tofu to remove excess moisture. Wrap in a towel and place a weight on top for about 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) for baking.
  3. After pressing, cut the tofu into your desired shapes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy milk, flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne until smooth.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs with additional salt and pepper.
  6. Coat each tofu piece in the batter, then roll in the seasoned panko breadcrumbs.
  7. Bake the coated tofu in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
  8. Remove the tofu, toss in BBQ sauce, and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
