Equipment

  • baking dish
  • Shallow dishes

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by cutting each part-skim cheese stick in half to create 24 delightful mozzarella stick pieces.
  2. Set up a convenient breading station with three shallow dishes: flour in one, whisked egg in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in the third.
  3. Take a cheese stick piece and toss it into the flour, ensuring it's lightly coated; gently tap off any excess. Next, dip it into the egg wash until fully covered, then roll it in the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Lay the coated mozzarella sticks on a silicone mat-lined baking dish in a single layer without overlapping, then freeze for at least one hour.
  5. Preheat your air fryer to 385°F (195°C), arrange the frozen mozzarella sticks in a single layer in the basket, lightly spray with nonstick spray, and cook for 5 minutes.
  6. For oven baking, preheat to 425°F (220°C), place sticks on a silicone mat or parchment-lined baking sheet, spray with nonstick spray, and bake for 9-10 minutes.
  7. Once cooked, allow them to cool briefly, serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce like marinara, and enjoy.
