  • 1 pound Tilapia cleaned and chopped

  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese or substitute heavy cream
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheese mild cheese recommended
  • 1 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper to taste
  • 1 can Beans black or pinto, drained
For the Vegetables
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 cup Bell Peppers diced
For the Broth
  • 4 cups Seafood or Vegetable Broth or chicken broth as substitute
For Seasoning
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Chili Seasoning to adjust flavor

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the seafood by cleaning and chopping shrimp, scallops, and tilapia into bite-sized pieces. Rinse and pat dry.
  2. Sauté chopped onions, minced garlic, and diced bell peppers in a large pot with oil for 5–7 minutes until soft.
  3. Lower heat, add cream cheese, and stir continuously for 3–4 minutes until melted and creamy.
  4. Fold in seafood, beans, and broth, then bring to a gentle boil for about 5 minutes.
  5. Season with cayenne pepper, salt, pepper, and stir before reducing heat to low.
  6. Cover and simmer for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. To thicken, mix cornstarch with water and stir into the pot, cooking for another 5 minutes.
  8. Serve hot in bowls with crusty bread or rice.
