- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook manicotti shells for 6-7 minutes until al dente.
- In a large skillet, cook ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat, breaking up the meat for about 8 minutes.
- Stir in onions and garlic and cook for an additional minute. Add marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper.
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of the baking dish and fill each manicotti shell with the ricotta mixture.
- Pour remaining meat sauce over the filled shells and sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella cheese. Cover with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 30 minutes, then uncover and bake for an additional 10 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Let it rest for about 5 minutes before serving.
