Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bring salted water to a boil and cook manicotti shells for 6-7 minutes. Drain and cool.
  3. In a skillet, cook ground beef and sausage with onion until browned. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
  4. Stir in marinara sauce and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Mix ricotta, 1 cup mozzarella, parmesan, egg, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl until smooth.
  6. Spread half of the meat sauce in a baking dish. Fill manicotti shells with ricotta mixture and place in the dish. Top with remaining meat sauce.
  7. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes, then remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
