Step-by-Step Instructions for Cheesy Ground Beef and Potatoes
- Start by heating 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add 1 pound of ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart as it cooks. Sauté for about 5–7 minutes until nicely browned.
- Stir in one chopped medium onion and two minced garlic cloves. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant.
- Incorporate 3 diced medium potatoes into the mixture and sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of paprika, and 1/2 teaspoon of dried oregano.
- Pour in 1/2 cup of beef broth, then cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low, cooking for 20-25 minutes.
- Once the potatoes are fork-tender, sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top and cover the skillet again, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the skillet from heat and garnish with 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley before serving.
