Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Grease an 8x8 inch baking tin with butter or cooking spray. Line with parchment paper for easy removal.
  2. Preheat oven to 200°C (180°C for fan ovens) or Gas Mark 6.
  3. Melt butter and dark chocolate over low heat, stirring until smooth, about 5 minutes.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together melted mixture, sugar, flour, salt, and eggs until smooth.
  5. Pour brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for about 35 minutes until set yet gooey.
  6. Cool brownies in the pan on a wire rack for about 30 minutes.
  7. Make caramel by melting sugar over medium heat, stirring until golden, about 5-7 minutes. Add cream while whisking until thick.
  8. Gently mix caramel with cornflakes until coated.
  9. Spread the caramel cornflake mixture over the cooled brownies and let set.
