Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round 9-inch cake pan.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Incorporate the eggs one at a time into the butter-sugar mixture.
  5. Gradually mix the dry mixture with the wet batter alternating with milk.
  6. Fold in butterscotch chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  8. Once baked, let it cool for about 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  9. In a saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the brown sugar to make the caramel icing.
  10. Add heavy cream to the mixture and boil gently until thickened.
  11. Pour the warm caramel icing over the cooled cake.
