Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a small saucepan, combine apple cider, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Add cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Stir gently until sugars dissolve.
  2. Place over medium heat until gently simmering, about 3–5 minutes. Stir occasionally.
  3. Allow to simmer for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until syrup thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Taste and adjust spices if needed.
  5. Cool for 15–20 minutes, then transfer to a glass jar for storage. Can be refrigerated for up to 2 weeks.
